Introduction: After reading about Donn Fendler's experience of being lost on Mount Katahdin for 10 days, the American Hiking Association decided that people need to be better educated in the rules and skills necessary for survival in the mountains.
Task: Create a "Mountain Survival Guide" PAMPHLET. Make sure you include tips for summer and winter. This document should be attractive and easily understood.
Process: Use the Guiding Questions to collection information for your pamphlet. Remember to put into your own words any information you take from the resources.

Conclusion: As you gather this information, think about how it would have helped Donn Fendler and anyone else who found himself in a survival situation. What would you do if you were lost on Soapstone Mountain? Your pamphlet may save your life someday.
